Gas (Forced air) Furnaces

The term “forced air heat” means that the heating system (furnace) sends (or forces) air through ductwork for distribution.

Single stage furnaces

There are single-stage and two-stage furnaces. The single-stage furnace has been the standard for years, and delivers full heating capacity every time it runs, regardless of weather conditions. This results in a temperature swing of two degrees or more above or below the thermostat setting.

Two Stage furnaces

Two-stage furnaces have a small or low heat furnace for mild days and a larger or high heat furnace for extreme cold days. Two-stage furnaces run at low capacity about 80% of the time, running for longer periods and providing more even heat distribution, regulating temperature to within as little as one degree of the thermostat setting. Because they are running mostly at low capacity, they are quieter than conventional single-stage furnaces, more energy efficient, and provide more continuous circulation of air resulting in better indoor air quality.

Heat Pumps

The best choice provides reliable, high efficiency heating for long-lasting comfort and energy savings, currently available in gas or oil-based fuel sources. A heat pump is a heating and air conditioning unit that heats by moving heated air through an air conditioning unit.

Radiant (in-floor) Heating

Radiant heat creates heat and delivers it via components such as boilers, radiators and special tubing. It controls the rate at which a body loses heat by turning your floor into a large, low temperature radiator.
